In recent discussions about the potential of a zombie apocalypse, an unusual suggestion has been circulating: tying the shoelaces of the dead to prevent the spread of the undead. While this idea may seem novel at first glance, a closer examination reveals several reasons why it would be an ineffective strategy for preventing a zombie outbreak.
Second, tying shoelaces does not address the root cause of a zombie outbreak. Zombies are typically created by a virus or other infectious agent that spreads through bites or contact with bodily fluids. Simply tying the shoelaces of the deceased would not prevent the spread of the virus or protect the living from becoming infected.
If we could convince all Funeral Directors to tie the shoelaces of the deceased together it would make for a pretty hilarious zombie apocalypse.
